Deep within south Georgia, in the town of Moultrie, exists a tombstone to William Duggan, Sr., 1899-1950.Duggan had purchased a circus but passed away soon after the pruchase.In the form of a life sized elephant, this tombstone depicts Nancy, a baby elephant owned by Duggan. It was erected to the memory of his father by Duggan’s son.
